Judges

Thank you for showing interest in judging at SNOW, judges are super important for an event and we truly appreciate your commitment and help!

Please read all information below as we hope this will answer most of your question but if you are missing any form of information please reach out to Robert Edman on FB or email [email protected]

General info:

  • We will offer 40 judging spots if we do two circles and 20 if we do one circle.
  • Also 4 back-up judges that will be on stand by in case someone get sick.
  • Head judge: Not yet specified.
  • Comp coordinator: Not yet specified.
  • MC: Ben Morris
  • Scoorer: PYCYscoring
  • Comp DJ’s: Ekatarina Wolff & Arnaud Perga
  • We have not decided if we are doing one or two circle setup this year, leaning towards one circle since we will have one extra dance floor with social.
  • We will use Andreas Kasper system with digital tablets.
  • Expected amount of competitors ~700

Compensation

  • Free All-Star pass
  • Option to get discounted hotel room.

Hotel room offer

  • We offer All-star judges a limited amount of heavily discounted hotel rooms.
  • Modest cabin sized rooms (no windows) in the main hotel, with toilet/shower.
  • Its a double room, One queen size (160cm) bed that you will share with someone
  • Breakfast included!
  • Thursday – Monday (minimum length, but you can add more days.
  • Price: 1000 sek (~100€) per person for thursday to monday, adding extra days is 650 sek extra per person. Breakfast included.
  • Yes it is possible to share the room with a non-judge like your partner. It is important to state that information when you register. They will also pay 650 kr per day including breakfast (we don’t judge who you share the room with, pun intended)
  • If you do not have a friend/another judge you would like to share the room with we will pick someone from the judge list.
  • We prioritize international judges to minimize their traveling costs.
  • Please note that if you are a no show or do not fulfill the required 2h minimum judging you will have to pay for your entire stay.
  • The latest cancellation day of the hotel room is 1-aug 2026. So if you need to cancel after that we might not be able to refund you the money if we do not find another judge to replace you/and your room.

  Requirements:

  • Minimum judging time (Friday+Saturday) is 2 hours. It is your responsibility to arrange so you get the minimum hours. 
  • All Judge applications will be scanned by our Chief Judge & Comp team before approval.
  • You must have experience of large events and large heat competitions >500 competitors 25-30 couples per heat.
  • References & Judge education is a plus.

Brief preliminary comp schedule:

Friday (one circle)

  • 16.00 – Comp meeting
  • 18.00 – Competition start  with J&J prelims and then Strictly Swing
  • Done around 22.30

Saturday (One circle)

  • 13.00 – Comp meeting?
  • 15.00 – Competition start -Jack & Jill
  • Done around 22.30 incl awards.
